Lily Franklin:
A Voice for Southwest VirginiA

I’m Lily Franklin, and I’m running for delegate in Virginia’s 41st District because Southwest Virginia deserves a leader who won’t leave us behind.
Our communities are built on grit, hard work, and looking out for one another—but too many families are being pushed to the brink. No parent should have to work three jobs just to get by, missing out on the moments that make a family whole. Tucking your kids in at night should be a right, not a privilege.
I’ve had the privilege of calling Southwest Virginia, home; I graduated from Northside High School, and earned a degree in Political Science from Longwood University. My roots run deep—my family has lived and worked here for generations. I know that Virginia doesn’t end in Charlottesville, and I’ve felt the same frustration as my neighbors when our region is overlooked. That’s why I’ve spent nearly a decade fighting for the people of Southwest Virginia, ensuring our voices are heard, and our communities get the resources they deserve.

REAL EXPERIENCE, REAL RESULTS
As a former math teacher in Appalachia, I saw how underfunded schools and lack of resources hold our kids back. I worked with students with big dreams but few opportunities, and I know that strong schools are the foundation of a thriving community. Later, as Chief of Staff to a state delegate, I helped pass real solutions, like:
- Microgrants for farmers
- Housing protections for domestic violence survivors
- Clean drinking water laws, including legislation to limit PFAS “forever chemicals” in drinking water
- A first-of-its-kind program that put constituents in charge of the bill-writing process
I’ve built strong relationships in Richmond and know how to get things done. I’ll use my experience, proven track record, and deep connections to benefit the people of the 41st District.
It’s Time for a Leader Who Works for Us
We need a delegate who will fight for affordable housing, good jobs, strong schools, and better healthcare—someone who will stand up for working families, not special interests. I’m not here for the status quo—I’m here to ensure our community gets the support it deserves.
Our region deserves the tools to build a future where we can thrive at every stage of life. That means ensuring every child gets a world-class education, young people can find good-paying jobs in their hometowns, working families have the support they need, and our aging population can retire with dignity in their homes.
A vote for me is a vote for your neighbor, a vote for our home, a vote for a future where no one is left behind.
