Lily will fight to stop hedge funds from driving up prices, push for innovative local and statewide solutions, and ensure that homeownership is a reality—not just a dream—for working people. Everyone deserves a safe, stable place to call home.
EDUCATION
Strong public schools are the foundation of a thriving community, but Virginia ranks 25th nationwide for school funding. As a former teacher in Appalachia, Lily knows firsthand how underfunded schools hold students back. She’ll fight to ensure every child gets a world-class education, teachers receive fair pay, and every school has the resources to prepare students for the future. Investing in our kids is investing in the future of Southwest Virginia.
ECONOMIC GROWTH IN SW VIRGINIA
Southwest Virginia has been left behind for too long as industries disappeared and jobs dried up. Lily will work to bring new opportunities to our region by investing in infrastructure, supporting small businesses, and connecting the New River and Roanoke Valleys to strengthen our local economy. She’ll fight for policies that create good-paying jobs so families can build a future at home. A strong economy starts with investing in our people. Lily is fighting to put money back in your wallet—starting with your power bill. She refuses to take a dime from Appalachian Power, because she believes your electricity rates shouldn’t be set by corporations with unchecked political influence. It’s time we put working families ahead of utility profits.
CLEAN DRINKING WATER
Every Virginian deserves safe, clean drinking water—no exceptions. Lily drafted legislation to limit toxic PFAS “forever chemicals” in Roanoke’s water, but there’s more work to do. She’ll fight to strengthen protections, hold polluters accountable, and invest in infrastructure to ensure every family, no matter where they live, has access to clean, safe water. No one should worry if the water from their tap is making them sick.
Lily worked to pass critical legislation that set strong limits on dangerous “forever chemicals” (PFAS) in our drinking water, taking action to protect our communities and ensure cleaner, safer water for future generations.
REPRODUCTIVE FREEDOM IS HEALTHCARE
No woman should wait a year to see a doctor or struggle to access basic reproductive care. In Southwest Virginia, that’s too often the reality—and the consequences can be serious. Lily will fight to protect reproductive rights, expand access to OB-GYNs and contraception, and ensure women can get the care they need, when they need it. Because women’s health isn’t a luxury—it’s a right.
